Waldorf Dolls:
Photos to Spark Your Creativity
On this page, we hope you'll enjoy looking at photos of some of the many dolls Kathryn has created during the past years!  At this time, she no longer accepts orders for custom dolls, but spends her time creating new patterns and products for the website.

Doll Care Instructions

Dolls are surface washable only.  In an extreme emergency, the doll can be tied securely in a pillow case, washed in a machine in cold water and air dried.  Never put a doll in the dryer or it will come out looking like a raisin!

Note: Machine washing is not recommended for normal, everyday cleaning.  If washed in this way, the mohair yarn most likely will become matted.

To refresh hairstyle anytime: The straight mohair yarn can be brushed with a soft, baby brush, and then the "fuzzies" trimmed away to restore it's style.  The curly boucle yarn cannot be brushed, only finger styled.

Oriental Doll with Multi-Style wig
Here's a beautiful Oriental Pocket Doll made with golden skin and black hair in a straight, waist-length, multi-style wig. As seen here, this doll's hair has been made into two long ponytails.  Since  multi-syle wigs can be brushed into any hairstyle, whenever you desire, you can brush it out and style it another way!
A boy and girl Pocket Doll
The adorable boy doll in this picture has black hair in the short, curly style.  The sweet girl doll has light brown straight mohair done in a multi-style wig, which has been drawn up into a half ponytail at the top of her head.  Because her hair is a multi-style crocheted wig, it can be taken down and brushed into any style you desire!

A Note from Kathryn:

After much thought and discussion with my family, I've decided to close the custom dollmaking portion of the business at The Silver Penny, at least for the present time.  I have so many other creative projects that I've sketched out and want to pursue, such as new patterns, kits and handmade items for the website -- but just haven't had the time to work on them!  I am very sorry for this inconvenience, but hope you'll understand.  Please, we request that you do not write and ask. -- Thank you!
